My name is Anne Scheepers. In 2014, I started at the Hout en Meubilerings College (HMC) in Amsterdam, where I graduated in 2018.
In my final years of study, I apprenticed as an instrument maker with Paul Doyle in Galway, Ireland. Here I specialized in making harps, but I also designed and made other instruments.
During my studies, I founded Rosch Instruments, where I have since made several instruments to order with great passion and pleasure. With Rosch Instruments, I try to bring music back to the former Hoogcruts monastery, where my studio is located.
In addition, I have been working in my own company, HoutJeBezig, since 2018, where I create pieces of furniture and consumable materials. Here, I let my love for music, wood, and furniture come together.
People can have their favorite piece of furniture designed and made by me, exactly as they had in mind. For example, that one nice chair that someone has always wanted, or that wooden dining table where there is finally room for all the guests.
I then create this furniture with sustainable materials, taking nature into account. That is why I want to source the wood and materials I use locally as much as possible.
To create handcrafted wooden instruments and furniture that blend artistry, functionality, and sustainability, bringing music and craftsmanship to life.
To inspire a deeper appreciation for handmade woodwork while preserving the tradition of harp-making and fine furniture design.
